The Paramount+ crime drama “MobLand” has officially been renewed for season 2.
There is no official release date for season 2 of “MobLand” just yet, but it seems likely that the series will return in 2026. Production for season 1 began in November 2024, just four months before “MobLand” premiered in March. That suggests that there could be a similarly quick turnaround time for season 2.
Chris McCarthy, the Co-CEO of Paramount and President of Showtime/MTV Entertainment, said in a Monday, June 23, statement that the company is “elated to greenlight” another installment of “MobLand.”
“With more than 26 million viewers and climbing, ‘MobLand’ has become a resounding triumph – driven by the creative brilliance of [executive producers] Guy [Ritchie], Jez [Butterworth], Ronan [Bennett] and David Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances of Tom [Hardy], Pierce [Brosnan] and Helen [Mirren],” McCarthy continued.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for season 1 of “MobLand.”
Hardy stars in “MobLand” as Harry Da Souza, a fixer for the Harrigan crime family. Brosnan and Mirren play Conrad and Maeve Harrigan, respectively. The season 1 finale, which premiered on June 1, created some uncertainty about Hardy’s future on the show.
During the episode, Harry’s wife, Jan (Joanne Froggatt), accidentally stabbed him in the chest with a knife. Harry was unfazed by the knife lodged in his chest, but the episode ended without giving viewers a sure answer as to whether he survived the stabbing.
However, Butterworth assured fans that Hardy is returning for season 2 during an interview with the New York Post published earlier this month.

“Is Harry dead? No. We’re not gonna – We love Harry. We love Tom,” the “Mobland” writer and executive producer said.
Brosnan and Mirren are also set to reprise their roles in season 2. Speaking with MovieWeb earlier this month, Brosnan said that he thinks “the whole world is waiting to see the second season” of “MobLand.”
“I had the greatest time working with this great company of actors,” he continued. “It’s been a resounding success.”
Season 1 of “MobLand” is available to stream on Paramount+.
