The “MobLand” season 1 finale featured several deaths, but is the show’s main character one of them?

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the season 1 finale of “MobLand.”

During the finale, which hit Paramount+ on Sunday, June 1, Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) got stabbed during an argument with his wife, Jan (Joanne Froggatt). She didn’t exactly mean to stab him — she looked shocked to see the knife buried in Harry’s chest — but she did yell “f—” off right before swatting at him with the knife.

Harry remained calm as a cucumber after the stabbing, but the episode ended without giving viewers any closure. How serious is this injury? Is Harry going to die? Luckily, “MobLand” writer and executive producer Jez Butterworth set the record straight during an interview with the New York Post published on Sunday, June 1.

“Is Harry dead? No. We’re not gonna – We love Harry. We love Tom,” Butterworth said.

“MobLand” has yet to be renewed for a second season, although another installment seems likely. The March premiere broke the record for Paramount+’s biggest global series launch, with 2.2 million viewers worldwide.

While speaking to Deadline at the “MobLand” premiere in March, Hardy said, “I hope so” when asked if there would be a season 2. Executive producer David Glasser chimed in to say, “There will be.”

“Same team, same everybody,” Glasser continued. “Everybody’s coming back, we’re all one big family.”

In addition to Hardy, “MobLand” stars Pierce Brosnan (Conrad Harrigan), Helen Mirren (Maeve Harrigan), and Paddy Considine (Kevin Harrigan). Hardy’s character, Harry, is a fixer for the Harrigans, a London crime family.

While Harry survived the season 1 finale, not everyone was so lucky. Harry’s henchman Kiko (Antonio González Guerrero), rival crime family leader Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell), and the Harrigan’s lawyer O’Hara Delaney (Lisa Dwan) were all fatally shot during the episode.

Undercover agent Alice Barnes (Emily Barber), whose real name is Nicola, was also seemingly killed offscreen by Richie’s men during the finale.

“MobLand” is available to stream on Paramount+.
