A Mega Millions ticket worth $4 million was sold for Friday’s lottery drawing at a 7-Eleven in Bergen County
The lucky ticket was bought at the store on Kinderkamack Road in Montvale, state lottery officials said.
It matched five numbers but not the Mega Ball.
Friday’s winning numbers were: 26, 49, 58, 61, and 63. The Mega Ball was 9 and the New Jersey ticket had a Megaplier of 4X, which multiplies prize amounts.
No one across the country hit Friday’s $302 million jackpot, pushing the top prize for Tuesday’s drawing to an estimated $326 million. The cash option will be worth about $145.7 million.
Other second-prize tickets for Friday’s drawing were purchased in Georgia (worth $2 million) and Washington state (worth $3 million).
No one has hit the Mega Millions jackpot since a winning ticket worth $112 million was sold in Ohio for the April 18 drawing. A trust claimed the prize.
Previously, the odds of winning the jackpot with a $5 ticket were 302 million to 1., the odds of winning the jackpot were previously 302 million to 1. However, on April 8, one Mega Ball was eliminated from the matrix, slightly improving the odds to 290,472,336 to 1 as the price of a ticket increased to $5.
The odds of winning at least $1 million by matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball are now 1 in 12,607,306, an improvement from the previous odds of 12,629,232 to 1.
The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a prize of at least $10,000 are 893,761 to 1, better than the previous 931,001 to 1.
Mega Millions drawings are held each Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
