Arrest made after hidden cameras found in public bathrooms along Jersey Shore

Authorities have arrested a 38-year-old Philadelphia man a week after hidden cameras were found in public restrooms along the boardwalk in Ocean City.

Harold Perkins was arrested Friday morning in Philadelphia and charged with six counts each of invasion of privacy and endangering the welfare of children by manufacturing child pornography, Ocean City police said.

Perkins remains held in Philadelphia and will be extradited to Cape May County. Attorney information for Perkins wasn’t immediately available.

Authorities took him into custody around 6:20 a.m. after executing a search warrant at his home.

Philadelphia police said Perkins is being processed and had no other information.

The investigation began after a woman found a camera in a bathroom at Sixth Street on the boardwalk around 12:25 p.m. on June 12 and notified police in the popular Jersey Shore resort city, officials said last week.

Officers then checked other public restrooms along the boardwalk and found cameras in the public restrooms at both 10th Street and 11th Street.

The tiny cameras were disguised as pens, according to a report by 6abc.com in Philadelphia.
