Man bought cocaine out West and mailed it back to N.J., officials say

A Camden County man admitted to conspiring to sell cocaine he purchased in Arizona and California, and shipped back it to his home in New Jersey, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Rasheed Amin, 46, of Voorhees pleaded guilty Monday to one count of conspiring to distribute over five kilograms of cocaine and possession of a weapon as a felon.

On three occasions between July and October 2024, Amin flew from Philadelphia to the western U.S. to purchase cocaine, officials said.

In July 2024, Amin flew to Phoenix, Arizona, and mailed cocaine to addresses in Sicklerville, Woodbury and Cherry Hill using the United States Postal Service, according to charging documents.

Amin flew to Phoenix again in August 2024 and shipped another three packages of drugs to addresses in Fort Lee, Bronx, New York and his home address in Voorhees, charging documents show.

And in October 2024, Amin flew to San Diego, California, and shipped drugs through USPS to two addresses in Camden and one address in Sicklerville, court documents show.

Some of the packages Amin mailed back to New Jersey did not make it to their intended addresses after being intercepted by law enforcement, charging documents show.

Authorities searched Amin’s Voorhees residence on Oct. 29, 2024, and found several kilograms of cocaine and a loaded handgun, officials said.

Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 13.

An attorney for Amin did not immediately return a request for comment.
