Summer means “Big Brother,” but the CBS reality show has been premiering later in recent years.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic pushed season 22 to August in 2020, “Big Brother” hasn’t gone back to June premieres. The past four seasons have all premiered in July or August, and the upcoming installment will be no different.

“Big Brother 27” is set to premiere on Thursday, July 10. In addition to airing every Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday for the duration of the season, “BB27” will feature special episodes called “Big Brother: Unlocked” every Friday at 8 p.m. ET.

The episodes will feature interviews with past houseguests and never-before-seen footage from the house. “Big Brother Unlocked” will be hosted by three previous “Big Brother” champions: season 24’s Taylor Hale, season 25’s Jag Bains, and season 22’s Cody Calafiore.

The “Big Brother 27” cast list has not yet been revealed, and fans could still have a while to wait. The “Big Brother 26” cast wasn’t announced until two days before the season premiere.

“Big Brother,” which premiered in 2000, follows a group of houseguests cut off from the rest of the world. Contestants can’t contact their loved ones, watch TV, or access the internet for the entire duration of their stay in the “Big Brother” house. They vote to evict one of their own each week, until only two players are left standing. During the finale, a jury of evicted evicted players votes for the winner.

It’s been less than eight months since Chelsie Baham was crowned the winner of “Big Brother 26” in October 2024. Baham beat runner-up Makensy Manbeck by a vote of 7-0 during the season finale.

Many “Big Brother” fans poked fun at Manbeck for taking Baham with her to the final two, but she stands by the choice.

“I was asked before I made the decision if I would regret it if she won, and my answer will be no, always, because that was a testament to the game I played,” Manbeck told TVInsider in October 2024. “ I wasn’t scared of getting second … it was a loyal decision, and it was one that I would be proud of watching back.”

“Big Brother” is available to stream on Paramount+.
