You might want to reconsider buying those tomatoes from the supermarket.

Two brands of tomatoes, Ray & Mascari and Williams Farms Repack, have been recalled in a total of 14 states due to the presence of salmonella, according to two separate notices from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

No illnesses have been reported to date from either distributor.

The recalled 4 Count Vine Ripe Tomatoes from Ray & Mascari were sold in 20-ounce and 4-pack clam shell plastic containers.

They have a UPC code of UPS#7 96553 20062 1 and lot number of Lot#RM250424 15250B or Lot#RM250427 15250B on the label of each case of 12 4-pack containers. The company received and repacked the tomatoes from Hanshaw & Capling Farms in Immokalee, Fla., who started the recall and informed Ray & Mascari.

The labels on the containers say “VINE RIPE TOMATOES” and “Packed by Ray & Mascari Inc., Indianapolis, IN 46204.″

Meanwhile, the tomatoes that Williams Farms Repack recalled were sold under two different brands: Williams Farms Repack and H&C Farms. They included 3-count and 60-count cases of tomatoes with Williams Farms Repack’s label and two different 25-pound cases of tomatoes with H&C Farms’ label.

Customers who have purchased these tomatoes should throw them out and not consume them.
