Rutgers has officially begun looking for an athletic director.
The school announced last week that it has launched its search for a permanent replacement for Pat Hobbs, who abruptly resigned from his post in mid-August before an investigation into an inappropriate, consensual relationship with one of the school’s coaches.
Ryan Pisarri, who has guided the Scarlet Knights through a crucial moment in college athletics as the era of pay-for-play takes hold as the interim athletic director in Hobbs’ place, told NJ Advance Media this winter that he “hopes to be part of the process” when the school began looking for candidates to fill the role full time.
The Rutgers Rant is back to discuss the search, what the priority should be for the next athletic director should be upon being hired and whether the school should consider an outside-the-box hire.
We also discuss Harun Zrno, the men’s basketball program’s latest addition, and where the roster currently sits.
And, of course, we answer the questions submitted by our listeners.
