After making a major hire last month, is Rutgers set to fill the biggest open role in its athletic department in the near future?
The school selected William F. Tate IV to become its next president last month, poaching him from LSU. With the University’s leader in place, the Scarlet Knights are now in position to fill the opening at athletic director.
The school hired a search firm for the position in late April and appears to be focused on “non-traditional” candidates for the position. Could the search be coming to a close soon?
We discuss the latest on the search, what we are hearing about where things stand, what Tate’s influence on the process might be and our take on the pursuit of a non-traditional candidate for the position.
We also touch on Tate’s hiring, the football program’s big recruiting weekend and the basketball program’s roster outlook after the Scarlet Knights added its 13th scholarship player last month.
And, of course, we answer the questions submitted by our listeners.
