Rutgers football is staying local during non-conference play in its near future.
The Scarlet Knights signed a four-year home-and-home series with Temple, the Owls announced on Monday.
Separated by roughly 75 miles, the two sides are familiar with each other.
They faced off three times during head coach Greg Schiano’s second stint in Piscataway (2021, 2023, 2024). Rutgers won the three contests by a combined score of 113-35, including a 61-14 beatdown in the first meeting.
Rutgers is 24-15 all-time against the Owls, winning the last seven meetings. Under Schiano, the Scarlet Knights are 5-2 in the series, winning the last five meetings after dropping back-to-back contests in his first two seasons at the helm (2001, 2002).
