Rite Aid closings 2025: See the full list of stores shutting down

If you shop or pick up prescriptions at Rite Aid, you might want to find a new pharmacy.

Rite Aid is closing even more locations after the beleaguered pharmacy chain has filed for bankruptcy a second time.

This time, the pharmacy chain is closing hundreds of locations, including 30 in New Jersey, according to bankruptcy court documents.

The news of these Rita Aid closings comes not long after it was reported that many New York Rite Aid locations were closing in May, and then over 1,100 Rite Aid employees in New Jersey were laid off ahead of the closures.

As part of the bankruptcy process, nearly all Rite Aid locations were listed for sale.

Can I still pick up prescriptions at my Rite Aid Pharmacy?

If your location is closing, no. Rite Aid’s website reads:

“Beginning, May 6, 2025, Rite Aid Rewards points will no longer be issued for qualifying purchases. All accrued points and BonusCash will expire per standard terms & conditions available at riteaid.com/rewards/terms-and-conditions.

Rite Aid will no longer honor Rite Aid gift cards or accept any return or exchanges beginning June 5, 2025."

However, other competing retail pharmacies have agreed to take over some Rite Aid locations.

CVS Pharmacy, for example, agreed to take over 64 Rite Aid stores in Idaho, Oregon and Washington, according to a press release from CVS Health.
