Rick and Morty” Season 8 is still here, still going strong (especially with its confounding episode titles). The iconic, modern classic sci-fi comedy series will air a new episode on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network on Sunday, June 22 at 11 p.m. You can watch it live on either Sling TV (half off first month) or DIRECTV (free trial).

While information about new episodes of this series is always a little tough to pick apart, here’s what we know. The 5th episode of season 8 will be called “Cryo Mort a Rickver,” which is a particularly tortured pun, even for this show.

The title here recalls the 2002 hit song “Cry Me a River” by Justin Timberlake. While the connection to the song title and the episode are currently inscrutable, there will likely be some faint thematic connection that becomes apparent by the end of the episode.

According to the episode’s official description, Rick and Morty will attempt to rob a ship while its crew is in a cryogenically-induced deep sleep, but will discover “people are light sleepers.”

Rick and Morty” follows the chaotic adventures of Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty, as they wreak somewhat unintentional havoc across galaxies and dimensions. Sometimes Morty’s sister, Summer, comes along, too.

The show is perhaps most famous for the way it ruthlessly riffs on pop culture and media in a way that extends beyond the sci-fi material you might expect it to target. The series is also notable for its cast, starring Chris Parnell, Sarah Chalke, and Spencer Grammer, along with Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden as the titular characters. Cardoni and Belden replaced Justin Roiland after Roiland faced various allegations of misconduct and abuse in 2023.

Here’s a look at everything you need to know to watch the latest episode, and the rest of season 8.
