What’s the truth behind UFC star Colby Covington?

Covington has a widely reported and highly visible relationship with President Donald Trump. Covington is a strong supporter of Trump and has been vocal about his admiration for him.

Covington has campaigned for Trump, and was invited to the White House to meet Trump in August 2019, further solidifying their connection.

Covington has also expressed that he is Trump’s “biggest fan” and says Trump “saved our country.”

However, footage from “The Ultimate Fighter 33″ has cast doubt on Covington’s true feelings about his commander-in-chief.

“If you read the internet, all the Brazilians hate me… But they didn’t understand what I’m doing,” said Covington while advising an up-and-comer. “So, I just went in there thinking, ‘I need to do something different.’ And I went out there and did it. And they went from saying, ‘Hey, we’re not gonna re-sign you’ to ‘Hey, we’re putting you in a title fight the next fight.’”

An ex-Interim UFC Welterweight Champion who has been a main event attraction for the UFC since 2019, Covington revealed how his Trump-loving persona helped build his “brand.”

“You gotta be able to sell parts of yourself and once they see you’re able to do that, you know how to, then you’ll start getting endorsements because you have a brand,” Covington said. “You wanna make a good life for you and your family. You wanna have a good financial future… Short career, so get the most out of it… It’s more than just fighting. You’re a businessman now.”
