The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has increased to $82 million with a cash option of $37.3 million.
“The winning numbers were: 5, 20, 28, 39, 42. Powerball: 13. Power Play 2x.”
No one across the country hit Wednesday’s $66 million jackpot, and there were no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold.
In New Jersey, no one won more than $300 with a single ticket.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 14, 15, 30, 40 and 59. The Powerball drawn was 20, with a Power Play of 3X.
In addition, no one on Wednesday won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 9, 31, 32, 50 and 57. The Double Play number drawn was 14.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million.
The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $110 million with a cash option of $49.4 million.
