UPDATE: Powerball jackpot worth $205 million won in California
The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $207 million, with a cash option of $92.7 million.
The winning numbers were: 1, 29, 37, 56, 68. Powerball: 13. Power Play: 2x.
No one across the country hit Wednesday’s $190 million jackpot. Two second-prize tickets matching five numbers but not the Powerball were sold in California with another purchased in Washington state.
The Washington state ticket is worth $1 million while the California tickets are worth $1,326,260 each.
California lottery prizes vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. They differ from the fixed second prizes offered in other participating states.
In New Jersey, no one won more than $200 with a single ticket.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 23, 27, 32, 35 and 59. The Powerball number was drawn 11 with a Power Play of 2X.
In addition, no one on Wednesday hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing. Those winning numbers were: 14, 30, 41, 48 and 69. The Double Play number was: 12.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million.
The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $202 million with a cash option of $90 million.
