The Powerball jackpot for Monday’s lottery drawing has rolled back to $20 million with a cash option of $9 million after someone who bought a ticket in Los Angeles won Saturday’s $205 million jackpot.
The winning numbers were: 1, 7, 44, 57 and 61. The Powerball drawn was 21 with a Power Play of 3x.
The jackpot winning ticket for Saturday’s drawing was sold at a 7-Eleven in Arleta, a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley, according to the California Lottery.
A pair of $2 million tickets were bought in Florida and New Hampshire.
Second-prize tickets matching five numbers, but not the Powerball are typically worth $1 million but the buyers spent an extra $1 for the Power Play option, increasing their winnings.
In New Jersey, no one won more than $200 with a single ticket.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 1, 29, 37, 56 and 68. The Powerball drawn was 13 with a Power Play of 2x.
In addition, no one on Saturday won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing.
Those winning numbers were: 34, 44, 61, 64 and 68. The Double Play number drawn was 19. It costs an extra $1 for the Double play drawing using the same numbers.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million.
The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $202 million with a cash option of $90 million.
