Doja Cat is drawing mixed reactions after sharing and then deleting posts on X describing a recent experience with a fan.
The popular entertainer took to social media to address an awkward exchange with TikToker Pablo Tamayo.
A video of the “Say So” singer interacting with Tamayo has gone viral after she claimed the TikToker’s actions were inappropriate. In the video, the man is shown fanning out over meeting Doja Cat and giving her his shirt before hugging and kissing her.
The 29-year-old singer and rapper, who didn’t seem visibly bothered in the video, shared Friday that she was not comfortable during the interaction.
“Don’t touch me and man handle me when you don’t even f----- know me,” one of the since-deleted posts read. “I honestly think I need to stand up for myself in the moment sometimes. and he didn’t even know my f----- name to be touching me and kissing me on my face like that is crazy.”
Doja Cat even said she “threw that musty a-- shirt away.”
Tamayo responded to Doja Cat Saturday on TikTok, stating that he was hurt by the posts and still loves her.
“I just wanna clear this up because it hurts,” Tamayo said. “I love her... I just think it’s crazy because she’s the one at this event that’s being so nice. She pointed out my shirt and said, ‘I like that.’”
Tamayo claimed Doja Cat asked for the shirt and may have bad mouthed him afterward for publicity.
“Now, she’s on Twitter saying she ‘threw that musty shirt away,’ that I didn’t know her name, that I manhandled her. I understand, guys, if I was being too nice or whatever. I will take full accountability. I’m gay! I would never want to make her feel uncomfortable, she’s so iconic, I’ve only been saying the nicest things about her,” Tamayo said.
The “Kiss Me More” singer has yet to comment publicly again on the situation.
