Our Place’s griddle pan might be even better than the famous Always Pan

Our Place is best known for the Always Pan, but that pan might have been outdone, by Our Place themselves.

I’ve been hunting for a sheet pan that can do it all, and Our Place’s Griddle Pan meets every requirement I had, and then some.

For the longest time, I ignored when my old sheet pans used to pop in the oven. But, after cleaning up a pretty heinous oil splatter due to said popping, I said enough was enough. I needed a pan sturdy enough to face any oven temperature and not pop.

Other big-name brands have claimed to be “oven-safe up to 450°F” (or higher) and lied, so I was determined to find out if Our Place’s pan would stand up to the test.

Is Our Place worth the hype?

Yes, 1000% yes. I’ve been using Our Place products for years now and I do not have a single complaint. And I’m a big complainer, you can ask my boyfriend, I complain about almost everything.

I’m a huge fan of Our Place, having already owned the Always Pan and Mini Perfect Pot prior to this review. I use both for all of my cooking, and I did not think I could love a piece of kitchen cookware more than my Always Pan, but having made roasted potatoes, pancakes, cookies, chicken wings, a sheet cake, and all of my favorite frozen foods on the Griddle Pan, I just might have a new favorite.

What is the Our Place Griddle Pan?

The Griddle Pan is a nonstick sheet pan that doubles as a stovetop griddle. Other pans on the market cannot do double duty like that, but they also don’t all come with a price tag of just over $100. So, I wanted to see if the Griddle Pan really was worth it.

The Griddle Pan comes in two sizes:

• Large for $110
• Mini for $60

Both pans come in an array of colors, like Char, Steam, Blue Salt, Sage, and Spice. The Large size also comes in Lavender, Tumeric, and Eve.

The Griddle Pan is made with Our Place’s exclusive safe, nonstick ceramic coating, which is “made without PTFEs, PFOAs, other PFAS, as well as potentially toxic materials like lead and cadmium.”

As someone who has used the Always Pan for years, which is made with the same exact coating, I can attest to this being nonstick for life. My Always Pan is still in mint condition after years of use.

Is it easy to clean?

The Griddle Pan looks brand new after every wash as if I never used it in the first place. The nonstick coating is so easy to clean.

When I first was introduced to Our Place, I remember reading Reddit comments online about the non-stick coating becoming less effective over time, but that is not the case for me. I do not want to point fingers, but I do believe anyone experiencing those sorts of issues has been caused by user error. Our Place cookware products cannot go in the dishwasher. You need to hand wash these pans. You also cannot put very hot water in a cold pan. If you do any of those things, the nonstick coating will begin to deteriorate over time. So, while handwashing isn’t always ideal, if you want these expensive products to last, you need to listen to the care instructions.

You also should avoid using aerosol cooking spray to ensure the longevity of your pan. In the care section, it says to avoid sprays. I use a little bit of oil when cooking (either olive or avocado) and a little oil does go a long way.

I use a Scrub Mommy and Dawn dish soap to clean my Griddle Pan (and my Always Pan and Perfect Pot!) and it has been simple, quick, and effective. My Griddle Pan looks like it just came out of the package after 30+ days of use.

Another bit of advice I’ve learned is, just like I avoid washing a cold pan with hot water, I also never wash this Griddle Pan when it is hot out of the oven. I always wait until it has cooled off to wash it. I never need to soak it to get food off, I just scrub a little and any leftover food bits come right off.

What can you use the Our Place Griddle Pan for?

What can’t you? I literally made a sheet cake in this.

The Griddle Pan is deeper than a traditional baking sheet because it can be used on the stovetop (1.6 in. depth), much like the Always Pan. The only difference between the Griddle Pan and the Always Pan, besides the shape, is that it doesn’t have a handle like a frying pan. So, I prefer to use this in the oven mostly.

I did test it on my stovetop to make multiple pancakes at one time, which I cannot always do with my Always Pan. This was a nice feature for making pancakes for myself and others all at the same time, rather than in multiple waves with my regular pan.

The Griddle Pan was perfect for cooking frozen food, roasted potatoes, and homemade pizza (with a crispy and crunchy crust!). What really sealed the deal was making wings on this. As I mentioned earlier, my final straw with my old pans was how much they popped at high temperatures and that caused some messy oil splatters in my oven. This pan? Never happens! We made wings on this pan and it didn’t warp at all in the oven. The clean-up was so easy, too. At first, it looked like the juices might have gotten stuck to the pan, but one scrub with dish soap and my sponge got that all out, I didn’t even need to soak the pan after.

Are there any cons of the Our Place Griddle Pan?

The only cons are that the Griddle Pan isn’t as big as some of the competition on the market. The Large size is 17.3″ x 11.4″ and the Mini is 11.4″ x 8.6″. Competitors have similar sheets that are 18x13″ and 15x10″. If these two Our Place pans were just an inch bigger each, they’d be the perfect size.

The pans both come with exterior handles, which eat up some real estate when storing these which is also a bit of a frustration. But overall, the size is not close to being a deterrent, given how nonstick and temperature-regulated this Griddle Pan is. I want one of these in every color now.
