North Jersey Coast Line train service remains suspended due to storm damage, officials say

Rail service to and from Penn Station New York on NJ Transit’s North Jersey Coast Line will remain suspended in both directions through Friday, authorities said.

Line service was suspended on Thursday due to downed trees on the wires and tracks near Middletown caused by Thursday’s severe storms, according to a statement from NJ Transit.

Service was originally slated to be restored by Friday morning, NJ Transit officials said Thursday.
