The New Jersey burger joint that became a social media sensation has expanded to a second location after less than a year of operation.

Slap Burgers has branched out from its Paterson location, opening a Clifton outpost on July 19.

The halal smash burger joint has been buzzing on TikTok and Instagram since it opened last December in Paterson. Despite being a new kid on the block in the Jersey burger scene, Slap Burgers has garnered millions of views on social media — and lines for burgers have followed.

Slap Burger’s expeditious explosion of social media popularity caused a bit of a strain on the business, which had been operating out of a tiny 200-square-foot kitchen in Paterson. The long lines and waits made it hard for owner Hazem Asad to keep up with the demand at times, fueling the expansion to Clifton less than a year after the business launched.

Clifton’s new Slap Burgers location is in the Richfield Shopping Center along Clifton Avenue and operates from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. seven days a week. Slap Burgers’ buzz-worthy burger menu features single, double and triple slap burgers made with its 3.5-ounce brisket and shoulder-blend beef patties, onions, cheese, pickles and signature “slap sauce.” Their double slap burger checked in at No. 13 on NJ.com’s latest list of the best burgers in New Jersey.

Slap Burgers’ halal beef, special blend of seasoning and signature sauce give the burgers a distinctive flavor. Other menu items include Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, tenders, loaded fries, mac and cheese, combo boxes and banana pudding.
