Man, 52, sexually assaulted minor, investigators say

A Cape May County man was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a minor, authorities said.

Eric Hazel, 52, of Lower Township, was charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, according to a statement from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

Detectives from the office were informed about the alleged assault on Monday, but no other details about the case were released.

Hazel was being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center pending future court proceedings, the office said.
