When a beloved rapper wants to keep a struggling restaurant chain in business, he orders the entire menu. At least that’s what Flavor Flav did.
Flavor Flav, the 65-year-old rapper and TV star, recently went to a Red Lobster location and ordered every menu item in one visit. The iconic hip-hop hype man shared details about his trip to Red Lobster on Monday in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), posting a picture of multiple tables covered in food.
“Ya boy meant it when I said I was gonna do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits,,, ordered the whole menu,” Flavor Flav said in the tweet.
One X user replied to Flavor Flav’s post explaining the business is closing because of mismanagement, not sales. Flavor Flav, a Long Island native born William Jonathan Drayton Jr., replied to the user, “they ain’t closing down just yet.”
Red Lobster filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May and has closed dozens of locations nationwide, explaining the chain would reduce its number of locations in order to stay financially afloat.
”Filing for bankruptcy does not mean we are going out of business,” Red Lobster recently said in a statement. “In fact, it means just the opposite. It is a legal process that allows us to make changes to our business and our cost structure so that Red Lobster can continue as a stronger company going forward.”
Red Lobster replied directly to Flavor Flav’s post by spinning his iconic “yeah boyeeee” catchphrase and saying “It’s flavor time boyeeeeee!”
While the Flavor Flav might not be able to save the flavor of cheddar bay biscuits all by himself, he is doing everything he can.
The hip-hop pioneer co-founded the New York-based rap group Public Enemy with Chuck D. in 1985. Flavor Flav also starred in VH1′s hit reality dating show “Flavor of Love”.
