Georgetown freshman Thomas Sorber is drawing the interest of several teams in the lottery and also just outside the lottery ahead of Wednesday’s NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-10 Trenton, N.J. native has attracted interest from the Atlanta Hawks (which pick at Nos. 13 and 22) and San Antonio Spurs (No. 14) -- the last two picks in the lottery. Sorber is also drawing attention from the Minnesota Timberwolves (No. 17) and Brooklyn Nets (Nos. 8, 19, 26 and 27), NJ Advance Media has learned.

Sorber suffered a left foot injury in February and missed the remainder of the season. It’s possible he could return for Summer League July 10-20. If not, he is expected to be ready for training camp in the fall, NJ Advance Media has learned.

“He can impact the game in so many different ways — scoring it, passing it, screening, physical energy,” Georgetown coach Ed Cooley told NJ Advance Media in December. “He’s one of the best energy-givers I’ve ever been around. He has an infectious smile and personality, but he’s tough.

“We knew he would be a good player. Right now, we see somebody who has an opportunity to be a great player.”

If Sorber lands with the Spurs, it’s possible they would end up with two New Jersey natives as Rutgers star Dylan Harper is the projected No. 2 pick to San Antonio.

Sorber is also one of several Big East player expected to be drafted, along with UConn freshman Liam McNeeley, who beat out Sorber for Big East Freshman of the Year honors and is a projected first-round pick.

Kam Jones (Marquette), Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton) and Eric Dixon (Villanova) are also projected late-first or second round picks, while St. John’s wing RJ Luis, the Big East Player of the Year, is also a possibility to get drafted.
