Frost and ice buildup in your refrigerator? You may be eligible for money back.

If you have certain Whirlpool, KitchenAid or Maytag three-door refrigerators manufactured between 2012 and 2019 and you’ve been plagued by frost build-up, you could be eligible for money back as part of a class action settlement.

You may be due as much as $300.

A lawsuit claimed that certain refrigerators have periodic build-up of frost and ice because the evaporators did not defrost properly. The build-up can stop the refrigerators from cooling food as they should, the lawsuit alleged. Calling the problem a “frost clog issue,” the lawsuit also claimed negligence, breach of warranty and that the problems were “fraudulently concealed.”
