These iconic Jersey Shore high schools are merging. Can high school sports survive?

The question was posed to Gianni Ghione so many times he lost count.

As his wrestling team at Jackson Liberty battled through the Shore Conference Tournament in January and then reached the semifinals of the state tournament in February, Ghione’s mind kept floating — not to his team’s next opponent — but to next season.
