A beloved breakfast eatery known to have some of the best bagels in New Jersey just announced plans to open a new location. O’Bagel, which already operates five outposts around New Jersey, will soon opening a sixth location — in Montclair.
The business took to Instagram on Wednesday to announce the news with a video of the staff preparing the new space at 560 Bloomfield Ave. in downtown Montclair. The post was captioned “Montclair… are you ready?!”
An official opening date has yet to be announced, although the video said the new shop would be coming soon.
O’Bagel is widely considered one of the top destinations for the state’s breakfast delicacy. The shop claimed the No. 6 spot in NJ.com’s latest ranking of New Jersey‘s 53 greatest bagel shops.
The eatery offers classic and specialty bagels, egg and cheese sandwiches, breakfast burritos, lunch options and an otherworldly jumbo bagel— which weighs 30 pounds and can feed up to 20 people.
The shop’s menu features over-the-top sandwiches like the Bee Sting (bacon, egg and cheese with scallion cream cheese and hot honey), the Fresh Prince (shredded steak, American and provolone, sautéed peepers and onions and chipotle aioli) and more.
O’Bagel originally opened in Stirling back in 1995 and went on to open two locations in Basking Ridge, one in Hoboken and one in New Brunswick. The new location will join a crowded Montclair bagel scene featuring popular shops like Hot Bagels Abroad, Sunrise Bagels and Walnut Street Bagels & Co.
