It’s not every day New Jersey takes its bagel cues from California. But here we are.

I found myself laughing when I saw a bagel shop in Los Angeles went viral for creating a “stuffed bagel” — cut nonsensically with notches to make room cream cheese filling and then dipped in a copious amount of garlic butter. When I found out a New Jersey was aping the trend, I stopped laughing.
