Robyn "Sister Wives"

Kody and Robyn Brown have returned in TLC's "Sister Wives" Season 18, which premiered on Aug. 20, 2023.

Kody Brown and his fourth wife, Robyn, have been the only couple out of all the “Sister Wives” to stay legally married.

If you need a primer on their relationship up to this point in the series, here is what you need to know about Kody’s relationship with Robyn on “Sister Wives” on TLC.

How Robyn met Kody

Robyn came into the picture later than Kody’s other three former spouses, Janelle, Christine and Meri. She was in a previous marriage to David Jessop until 2007, when they divorced.

Once Robyn settled her divorce, she met Kody and his first wife Meri at a gathering hosted by Robyn’s cousin.

Kody had this to say about his first impressions of meeting Robyn:

“She looked like a soccer mom. She had a van, three kids and was divorced. I thought, ‘I didn’t need a van, a divorced woman, and three kids in my life — that’s just trouble,’” he said.

Despite Kody’s reservations, he ended up falling for Robyn, which was all documented in Season 1.

When did Kody and Robyn get married?

Robyn and Kody spiritually married May 22, 2010. Kody was 41 years old, while Robyn was 31 years old. They got legally married Dec. 11, 2014.

Kody divorced his first wife Meri, so he could legally marry Robyn and adopt her children.

Did Kody and Robyn get divorced?

No, they are still legally and spiritually married.

Robyn is the last remaining sister wife still married legally and spiritually to Kody.

Kody Brown & Robyn’s children

Robyn and Kody share five children together.

Kody adopted David Dayton, Aurora and Breanna, whom Robyn had in a previous marriage in 2015.

Kody divorced Meri to get into a legal marriage with Robyn so he could adopt her three children. The couple later had two children of their own: Solomon and Ariella.
