If you drive a Kia, you might want to be extra careful when parking.
Kia is recalling more than 80,000 cars due to an issue with parking vehicle lights that flicker, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Why are the Kia models being recalled?
The 2025 Kia K5 cars are being recalled due to a software glitch that causes the vehicles’ parking lights to flicker, according to the notice from the NHTSA.
“Parking lights that fail to illuminate properly can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash,” the NHTSA notice reads.
What should you do if you have one of the recalled Kia vehicles?
Owners can bring their affected Kia vehicles to their local dealership for a software update for free, which can also be done over the air.
Owners will be notified by mail starting June 24.
In the meantime, customers can contact Kia customer service at 1-800-333-4542 and mention recall number SC341.
